We live for adventure! When we found out our friends John + Alayna are adventure seekers as well, we planned an off road camping excursion out in the wilderness of Colorado!
After a few hours of driving from Denver on Hwy285 through Jefferson and Fairplay, we arrived at the base of our trail near Alma, CO where we had our first breathtaking view of Montgomery Reservoir.
Airing down our tires in preparation for the off roading trail.
We setup camp somewhere in the mountain in the middle of the night and went to bed. Not realizing where exactly we setup camp, we woke up to a spectacular view of the valley.
We taught John + Alayna how to tripple stack hammocks.
John + En Tao went off and did more off roading on the FJ Cruiser during the day.
We made gourmet pizza in the moutains.
On our last day, we explored an abandoned mountain side cabin. Oh how we wish we can just restore it to it’s former glory and live in it!
On our way out, we explored the old mining mill that we passed by on the way in. Really cool to imagine this entire building functioning. Someone had to bring all the equipment in and assemble it!
This concludes our weekend off road camping expedition.
